Sales Leadership Marketing podcasts

One of my current goals is to improve my business and work on personal and professional development in ways that don’t add hours to my already long day or interfere with the time I spend with family and friends.

How I’ve managed to achieve this goal is by listening to informative podcasts during my 45-minute commute. I use an app to download the podcasts I want to listen to, then connect my phone to my car stereo, and voila, I get an education during my formerly-wasted drive time.

If you have a similar goal and some time to listen, whether it’s during a lunchtime walk, on the treadmill at the gym, or during your commute, here are a few podcasts that could help you reach your goals:

Sales & Marketing

Built to Sell

If you haven’t read (or listened to) John Warrilow’s book by the same name, that would be the best place to start before subscribing to this podcast.

Warrilow literally wrote the book on building a business model that can work without you, so that it can become a valuable asset that could be purchased in the future (to fund your retirement or next venture, or just to ensure peace of mind that you can take a vacation while your business continues to run without you there).

The Growth Show

Hubspot’s podcast series is dedicated to highlighting those who have had enormous and measureable success. On The Growth Show, they interview leaders who have grown businesses, movements, ideas, and teams to levels most of us aspire to.

Learn how the innovators of Patagonia, Lyft, Clif Bar, and many other organizations grew from simple ideas to successful ventures.

Social Media Marketing

Social Media Examiner’s Michael Stelzner provides interviews and success stories from social media marketing pros to help organizations understand how to develop winning campaigns.

Podcasts include topics on Twitter, LinkedIn mobile, blogging, Pinterest, Snapchat, Facebook Live, and too many others to list here.

Leadership & Professional Development

Dose of Leadership

Described as ‘Leadership Interviews with today’s most relevant leaders, entrepreneurs, and top managers’, this podcast is required listening for anyone who is currently managing others or aspires to lead a team or build a following.

We can all learn from those who have come before us, and this podcast does a great job of pulling in ideas from leaders in all aspects of life.

TEDTalks Business

Some of the world’s most innovative, creative, and brilliant minds have been sharing their ideas for years at TED conferences and TEDx events.

Now you can learn from them in the comfort of your home or car, without paying the cost of admission and travel.

Build a Badass Business

Diane Sanfilippo, a serial entrepreneur and 2-time New York Times bestselling author, provides strategies for business owners to grow their business, achieve goals, and improve their bottom line.

Her interviews with successful entrepreneurs who have ‘been there, done that’ will help you realize that not only are you not alone in your journey, but that there are unique ways to overcome the hurdles and exceed your wildest expectations.
